Here is Qantas’ new-look LAX business class lounge
A very LA facelift brings a fresh look to the popular Oneworld lounge.
Almost a dozen years to the day since Qantas opened its Los Angeles business class lounge, a major revamp has seen the mid-century modern look swapped for a fresh Californian coastal vibe.
The makeover has also delivered a much-needed boost in capacity, with a more space-efficient layout now accommodating 570 seats, up from the previous 500.
That alone will be welcomed by business class passengers and mid-tier frequent flyers – including Qantas Golds and Oneworld Sapphires – on the many Oneworld flights departing from Tom Bradley International Terminal, aka TBIT or more simply Terminal B.
TBIT serves as the primary LAX hub for international carriers, with the lounge itself being a joint venture between Qantas, British Airways and Cathay Pacific.
It also rolls out the welcome mat for loungeworthy travellers on other Oneworld airlines, with the TBIT roster including Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Qatar Airways.
(American Airlines and JAL depart from T4, while T6 is home to Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines).
New flooring, paint and timber feature walls have given the lounge a brighter, cheerier aesthetic.
This is enhanced by a new skylight feature in the dining area.
The iconic 1960s-inspired ‘fire pit’ remains, of course...
... as does the bar, which in addition to a standard drinks selection serves up one of the better flat whites you’ll enjoy before heading home.
More power outlets have been added, to reflect the fact that passengers are travelling with a lot more tech than they did in 2014.
However, it’s worth pointing out that despite the nominal Qantas branding, the LAX lounge is more of a shared multi-airline lounge and doesn’t accept Qantas lounge passes.

JAL does not depart from Terminal 4. The Check in desks are in T4, but the flights depart and arrive from TBIT and you would use the connector between the terminals to go to the lounges in TBIT.

Was in that lounge in ealry January, was dirty and had the usual mystery pot of hot slop as the main food. Prefer to go to the Amex lounge in LAX

I was there two days ago. Not sure where all the light in these photos comes from. The place is dark and dingy and the food is VERY average. In true Neil Perry style, there was no red meat, apart from a super-fatty pork casserole. The only dessert worth having was tiny cream puffs.
Because I was on FJ, luckily I also had access to the Star Alliance lounge (including the amazing outdoor deck). The food there was waaay better, e.g. a proper fruit salad with pineapple, strawberries and raspberries, a serve-yourself laksa bar, an excellent charcuterie board, turkey salad pesto focaccias (admittedly the bread was a bit dry) and fresh salads (with NO ROCKET!) and German wheat beer!
