I want to use my Emirates Skywards points to upgrade on a Qantas operated flight from Singapore to Sydney (booked via Emirates). Emirates tell me I can't use their points on QF flights - surely not the case? Anyone else had this problem?

The T&C state that no upgrades with Skywards Miles can be had on QF operated flights (note it says operated, hence it does not matter wether you are on an EK flightnumber). Mind you, QF also does not allow its members to upgrade an EK operated flights (even when you are on a QF flightnumber).

as KG said, points upgrades are only avail if flying on QF metal or EK metal, flight numbers by themselves don't count.

The Emirates tie up has reduced the QF upgrade options to Europe to zero (barring flying to Europe via Sydney) for folk in Perth. That's made worse by the fact that EK use those crap 777's out of Perth - looking forward to the A380 though, once the airport gets the gate built.

Actually international upgrades for QFF to anywhere from Perth are limited to Singapore (now reduced to once a day since to EK tie up) and twice a week to Auckland that will run for a couple of months at the end of the year.
