Qantas is in the process of adding Economy Plus seats / extra legroom to the 737s that are staying in the fleet for a bit longer. These aircraft are identifiable as having 29 rows and exits at rows 12 & 13 compared to the non-reconfigured aircraft (30 rows and exits at 13 & 14).
I think the plan is to charge a premium for these seats, but until they've reconfigured enough planes, the price is relatively cheap in case of an aircraft swap. They're only selling the 'upfront' benefit for now, but the price will increase for the legroom once planes are all reconfigured.

What is the advantage of the blue with diamond seats. Why are they different?
