I booked flights SYD-HAN through Qantas. I see the second leg is on VN612. Which lounge(s) if any can I access at BKK? I'm assuming OW lounges are out. (as Vietnam Airline is Star Alliance partner) Anyone know for sure?

Firstly Vietnam Airlines is actually a SkyTeam partner which means that if you are booked in Business Class from Sydney to Hanoi (that's on Both the QF and VN flights) then you can enjoy a SkyTeam lounge based on the SkyTeam access rules.

In Bangkok, this means you can access the Louis Tavern lounges (there are about 6 in the airport so you can use which ever one you want) or you can access the Air France lounge.

SkyTeam rules are the same as Oneworld or Star Alliance which means that if you hold a Business Class boarding pass you can access any SkyTeam Business Class lounge.

If you aren't booked into Business for the flight between Bangkok to Hanoi then you will need to have a SkyTeam Elite Plus card to get into a lounge, a one world card won't work.

Finally whilst your flight was booked by Qantas you won't earn QF points for the VN operated flights (unless they are booked under a QF code which is not possible for your route) and you should look at crediting the points to a SkyTeam member.
