Could someone please assist? I am taking QF5 to FRA in May. I am aware QANTAS have recently upgraded or are in the process of upgrading their 747/744. Can anyone confirm if QF5 is currently operated by refurbished 747 as various websites are reporting majority but not all 747's have/will be upgraded. Most would indicate QF is still being operated by an older 3 Class Config.
You might get lucky! Some of these services are operated by the reconfigured aircraft. It is not one of the routes they have identified by QF that is operating the reconfigured aircraft.
What date in May are you flying - I can then find out through Amadeus CRS the configuration of the plane (I will fly the same route on 27Feb and QF uses one of the refurbished planes on that day).
QF5 is again the old configuration on 31 March, but you should try to get hold of seat 16A (exit row in the bubble, currently not taken) - this is an excellent, if not the best on the plane, with loooooots of legspace and plenty of storage on the side.

Thanks for the reply, I'll be traveling in the cattle class as it will be a family holiday... let's hope the loading is not too full!
