does anyone have any info the observation deck at Melbourne intl.airport, heard it's still closed ???

All reports would suggest it still closed and I can't imagine it would ever reopen to the general public to be honest, in the security-conscious world of today!

Depending on the purpose of your visit, there are reasonable viewing areas / parking spots at the end of the runways, the biggest being at the official viewing area at north end of the main N/S runway. This is where I normally wait for incoming passengers to cut down on the parking fees! This obviously won't help you if you were hoping to wave someone off from the terminal, I know....

It's closed - and it can't really open again. International Departures level has expanded (upwards) to the point that the view is totally blocked.
