tried to find 2 business rewards seats on QF - SYD to SFO in November 2020. Although only half the month is available, they show nothing is available unless you want to use 500,000 points each, for each leg. Does anyone know if they ever become available? Any tips on how to proceed would be welcomed.
They do offer availability with JAL, Cathay and others but that adds 10 hours to the trip
If you've got high status it might be worth making a phone call to see if theres any availability to SFO or LAX. But I've only used the service to release a seat for myself... 2 may be a tad difficult!
Gold and Platinum members get a 60 day head start on these seats. I, for example, can see that seats are indeed available for that route in Nov 2020. Find a family member who has status who can book these for you, earn status yourself or hope and pray that the seats don't sell out within that 60 day window.

Yep - I'm WP and can also see availability in that window. 216,000 points each (Return) plus about $640 in taxes.
