Could someone, if they know, please tell me why I can't book a return Dubai-London-Dubai journey onboard Qantas?

Could someone, if they know, please tell me why I can't book a return Dubai-London-Dubai journey onboard Qantas? Yet it is possible to book a return London-Dubai-London. When Singapore was the stopover hub, it was possible to fly Singapore-London-Singapore with Qantas as well as London-Singapore-London... Many thanks

Qantas does not yet have an UAE website, and does not operate a 'rest of world' website, so cannot yet accept bookings originating in Dubai online. Should be possible to book by phone. Alternatively, book via Emirates website and select Qantas flights.

You can book a Dubai-London-Dubai itinerary on the Qantas website, but you need to select 'Europe/Middle East' which will take you to:

http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/home/gb/en?region_change=EU

The downside to booking it this way (other than through an online travel agent) is Qantas' haphazard credit card verification process when tickets are booked from risky (in terms of credit fraud) countries.

Apologies, disregard my answer, didn't realise it was possible to select Middle East as a region on Qantas website.

Excuse my ignorance. I've been to that Qantas page with all the flags. There does not appear to be an UAE flag under the Europe banner or a "Middle East" banner in its own right.

Could you clarify how someone might get to that page without using the link you provided?

TRB: Don't select a flag but actually click on the wording Europe / Middle East. It will take you to the generic EME website and you can book DXB-LHR or an alternative European destination.

Correction: Using the Europe / Middle East site you can actually only book DXB-LHR flights, weird....

I've tried it and it is allowing me to book DXB/MEL BUT you can only access that option from the main page.So if you've made an error do not click "Start again". Just go back to the home page and reselect your flights.

Looks like the Qantas IT people have not updated their scripts.

If you're located in the UAE, you could use omeir.com to book that too.
