I may be short by 100 SCs to requalify for Platinum this year. However, i have few forward bookings on J after my renewal date. Has anyone had any luck getting QF to give a small extension for Platinum member (have been for 8+ years in a row).

Never, unless they are having a particularly fine day which isn't often. Enjoy GOLD 😆😆

It's not going to be a small extension though. It will be a full-year comped extension.

Can't hurt to ask even if the probability is not great. It's a bit of a shame that your rollover wasn't a couple of months earler as Qantas had reduced the number of status credits required for Platinum renewal by 20% if the renewal was before October 1. ref: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/status-support.html

Always worth asking the question to them though - particularly if you have bookings in January. Good luck !

100sc if you are desperate is a quick mileage run. Business class to NZ and back on a sale fare is a good way to do it.

The forward bookings if shortly after your renewal date should help your cause

I have never understood the logic behind a "status run" You are basically paying over $1000 to go to NZ for no reason other than to have Platinum rater than gold. Is it really worth that much money simply for the "status" , better lounges and faster check in?

In the last year alone, i have been able to secure 3-4 business class seats released for my family when they did not exist. This alone is worth staying in platinum.

I changed my classic reward flights on american to a paid business/first ticket, and the 4 legs will bring in the additional sc’s i need to get to platinum.

Thank you
