I want to switch my frequent flyer over to Virgin Australia from Qantas. Is there any way to convert over my Qantas points into a Velocity account?

Unfortunately no, the status match ended a while ago, however i have heard that i you beg to them, get on your knees, lol they have accepted some transfers. You might just get lucky! ;)

Converting your points has never been possible, but you might have some luck getting your status matched (even though the official status match program has ended) if you demonstrate to them that you're a potential high value customer.

Yeah, the best way to "convert" your frequent flyer points is just to spend them on some "goodbye" flights with Qantas ;)

Other than that, just call Velocity up and see if they'll match your status (if you have one).

As a 7 year platinum status member with QF and an annual spend of +50K with QF, I tried to convert my status to Virgin to allow me to switch my business to them.  They gave me some rubbish about buying a membership which indicates they're not really that interested in winning my business.  I'm now looking at switching to SQ instead.
