While not suggesting this is your only option, if you're on Optus in Australia, check out the Optus Data Travel Passes which offer 1, 3 or f days of unlimited data for $10, $27 and $40 respectively through partner networks in Asia, incouding Singapore and Taiwan. Note that you'll need to purchase a separate Optus Data Travel Pass for each country and request the passes to be activated on the date of arrival or usage in each destination.
Your other option, depending on the duration of your stay in each country, might be to grab a local SIM card in each country.
