Is there a lounge at Darwin for VA Passengers?

Nothing on the VA website under lounges (I have heard rumours of a new one for 2014), but I was wondering if there were agreements for VA business and/or Gold members to use another carrier's lounge when flying domestic.

No, you're very much out of luck. The only lounge at DRW is the Qantas Club and it only seems to open up before Qantas flights (not Jetstar). This may change when Malaysia Airlines begin flights in November.

As for a VA lounge, given the limited amount of space in the terminal I don't see how any airline could open a new lounge in the current terminal.

There seems to be a plan to land a VA lounge: http://www.ausbt.com.au/darwin-airport-set-for-60m-upgrade

VA badly needs a lounge in Darwin. Waiting in the general boarding area, especially when you paid for a business class ticket, is unacceptable given how Darwin airport can get congested and impossible to find anywhere to sit but the floor. It's the reason why all but one flight this year to Darwin has been with QF. The Qantas Club there is a God send!
