Claiming points for Air India flights - KrisFlyer (Singapore) vs Lufthansa?

My father flew business SYD-DEL and DEL-MEL-SYD on Air India (FYI terrible service esp the food - but that's not the issue here).

He has all his cards, etc linked to Qantas FF. So this will probably be a single use of the points.

Would the points earned through KrisFlyer be enough for a SYD-MEL leg on Virgin?

Would I earn more or less points if I registered with Lufthansa?

Thanks!!

Personally im not a fan of SQ Krisflyer as there redemption availability is poor and they add a hefty fuel surcharge in with the taxes.

On a side note, some frequent flyer programs wont let you do a retro active claim on flights you flew on partners before joining, so check to see if you are even eligible.

Thanks X - he was already a member of KrisFlyer before he took the AirIndia flights, but his KrisFlyer number was not included in the booking.

Do you it's worth using Lufthansa instead?
