Does any anyone think that QF75/76 SYD-YVR will continue after the canadian ski season or there will be an increase on frequency.

I just landed in Vancouver on the inaugural qf75 flight.  I like the direct flight but it was the oldest plane I have ever been on (and I have been on lots).  The plane interior quality and service was bad in both ends of the plane-I has family spread throughout the plane.   It felt like Qantas had last minute fleet management issues and was forced to fire up an old bird from the back of the hanger.  I like Qantas but the thing which lets them down is the inconsistent fleet age and it was extreme in this case.  Message for Qantas- If you are landing in Vancouver for the first time, it might have been a good business decision to fly one of your newer aircraft.

...one more thing,  no skybeds in the old first class cabin in the inaugural qf75 flight! Inconsistent seating in business class....hmmmmm

What were the loads like for the 1st flight from SYD to YVR in Y?

You are correct. The aircraft Qantas had scheduled for that flight went tech at the last minute.. hence the change to VH-OJM which is one of the oldest (if not THE OLDEST) 747 in the fleet.

However from all reports most business class passengers were happy with being upgrade to first class seating. At least the friends that I knew on the plane.

Qantas previously operated the SFO tag during the northern summer (June-Sep). I believe these flights may return for that season, if not earlier.
