I'm Velocity Platinum and flying Etihad ex Hong Kong to London via Abu Dhabi in June. I'm aware there is no EY lounge in Hkg, but from what i can see on VA and EY websites there is no affiliate either. Anyone know or had experience?

Try the Virgin Ataliantic Clubhouse. Because your a VA Platinum you will be let in, Just check make sure you check the time of boarding as they will NOT call it in the clubhouse.

Etihad doesn't yet fly to Hong Kong - currently it's a codeshare on Air Seychelles (HM87 = EY4121) before the launch of Etihad's own flights.

I suspect lounge access for Etihad hasn't been arranged yet - they still have months to sort this out. Just be sure you're booked on the actual Etihad flight (EY881) and not the codeshare, otherwise you won't have lounge access and won't be able to earn points as Air Seychelles and Virgin Australia aren't frequent flyer partners.

Regardless, you can then use the Etihad Premium Lounge in Abu Dhabi and earn points on the Abu Dhabi-London sector.

Platinum status also won't get you into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse as you're not flying with Virgin Atlantic.

I'm on the EY flight number operated by Etihad themselves. Surely Etihad will have some sort of arrangement, it's not like Hkg is some backwater. They fly 3 times a week with their own metal and codeshare with HM on a second service. I used the ANA Lounge in Narita last time out, you'd like to think they will sort something out

Air Seychelles currently use the Plaza Premium Lounge (East), along with QR. Perhaps EY will start off with this lounge too?
