Which is better? Cathay Pacific from HKG to SYD or Virgin Atlantic from HKG to SYD?

In which travel class?

And what do you mean by "better"?

I recently tried Virgin Atlantics Upper class on this route and I loved it. I found it a lot better to Cathay's old business seat but not sure how it retes to the new one. Hope that helps 

I happen to like Cathays business seats (both old and new). But both Virgin and Cathay's Business seats are very similar in layout and privacy. Cathay, being based in Hong Kong, has a much better lounge. I find Cathay's entertainment system better (Virgin's failed from HKG - LHR one time I flew with them). If your flying economy, try to stay away from Cathay's old "shell" seats, they are extremely uncomfortable, Virgin's economy is ok, a bit of beige for me, just OK, Qantas' A380 service from HKG to SYD would be a better option than both of them. I cannot speculate on the Premium Economy service, as I haven't flown on either airlines' Premium Economy.
