Hi Guys

I have 3 upcoming flights to the US on the A380 (Aug, Nov & Dec). I have chosen an economy exit row seat in the upper deck which has been paid for and confirmed. Just after some advise from all you seasoned travelers out there on what to do if qantas change planes to the 747 and move me from my allocated exit row to a standard economy seat which has happened in the past. Will they show any compassion to a lowly silver status qantas club member seeing that this has happened before?

You will have to talk to them on a case by case basis. In the past i have been changed from A380 onto 747 when there was a change of aircraft, however their recommendation was to get to the airport as early as possible to get seat allocation. Yes they should respect the 'paid seat selection' and allocate you to exit-row, but would be best to confirm it in the case of equipment/aircraft swap.

dls1976,

This might help. Refer to clause no. 12:
