Has anyone had experience with the new upgrade to Delta Comfort for Virgin Australia frequent flyers? What has been the simplest method of requesting the upgrade - online or via the Delta reservation centre?

Darn! I totally forgot that was a thing!

A few weeks ago I was in the very last row of a Delta CRJ-700 next to a rather large gentleman; I wish I'd remembered...

Its been amazing! Such a nice benefit!! As a VA Platinum, I have got a complimentary Delta Comfort seat every time I fly. The unlimited free drinks, endless amounts of premium snacks, more leg room, first to be served, etc is so worth it even on the shortest of flights between LAX and SFO.

The best way to do it is to go online to manage your booking exactly 72 hours (Platinum) or 24 hours (Gold and Silver) before flight departure and you can go into seat selection and choose one of the Delta Comfort seats free of charge. I recommend choosing the first row in cabin if available as youll get much more leg room than the seats behind. You just need to make sure you add your FF# on your booking which you can also do online. I have not been able to add my Velocity number when I book the flight online, but soon after I receive a confirmation code, I edit my information and add my number and the sky priority logo shows up automatically.

If you are booking a flight last minute within 72 hours (Platinum) or 24 hours (Gold and Silver), have a look at the seat maps on each flight if you have flexibility. That way you can book it and then go into manage your booking and select that seat right after.
