I have a flight booked through Emirates from LHR-MEL. The DXB-MEL sector is on QF10. Seat selection for this flight is not available through the Emirates website, but I seem to remember somebody on here mentioned there was a way to retrieve the QF PNR, which would then allow you to choose a seat via the QF website for that sector? Can anybody advise if there is a method to select a seat for the QF flight - or will I need to bide my time until check in?
Entering the EK PNR (Mercator) into the Qantas website seems to bring up the booking in Qantas MMB along with the corresponding QF PNR (Amadeus). I've just tested this with one my bookings and it works just fine, and the opposite is true as well.
Failing that, you can call up Qantas a request a seat with only your passenger and flight details.
I've done the same thing with the opposite, (QF on EK) and although it allowed me to select my seat via the Qantas website when retrieving the booking using the reference, it was never confirmed.
My travel booker was able to rectify this. I assume a phone call to Qantas would also do the same thing.
