Is it worth the effort to become Virgin Australia Platinum?

Is it worth the effort to become VA platinum? What's the real contrast of VA Gold and VA plat. To me, apart from the 4 complimentary upgrade, there isnt much to get excited about

The benefits vs gold are limited. Especially when compared to Qantas. I'm personally of the opinion you should focus on requalification with the relatively low 400 SCs then put all your status eggs in a OW basket as the gold benefits are wider.

The perks of Diamond status with Hilton HHonors is good value, but this isn't renewed when you maintain your VA Plat status for the following year. The extra points earn rate on VA metal deserves a mention too. The complimentary upgrade vouchers are only useful if you are on a flexi Y ticket. The sweet spot for VA is Gold
