Hi again,

I will be travelling from MEL to LAS via LAX. I arrive into LAX of the QF flight but for some reason I'm domestic from LAX to LAS.

Given I'm a Gold QFF member, can I use a lounge in LAX - I have a 4 hour transit time and was hoping I could use a lounge. I was hoping to use the oneworld lounge in LAX, but have seats stories of QFF Gold members being rejected even though they are on an AA flight.

Thanks again.

Hi Allan

The key question here is whether your LAX-LAS sector is on the same booking reference. If so, your QF/OneWorld status will carry through and you'll be able to use the AA lounge in T4 - which is for all intents a domestic terminal.

I've seen other posters here talk about using the lounges in TBIT but given the interconnector between TBIT and T4 isn't completed you would be best served to make haste to T4.

From my experience, clearing security at T4 as a QF Gold is going to take the best part of an hour as morning queues are notoriously bad. As a QF Platinum my January transit took 45mins via the express queues.

The standard AA lounge for QF Gold's isn't that flash - there are showers but you'll need to get there ASAP and hope you find a break in the crowd. Food options are terrible - get into the lounge, get settled and then sneak back downstairs and find explore the terminal - from memory there are some new meal options half way down the main concourse. I'd also try and grab a piece of fruit or trail mix for the LAS sector as AA doesn't offer much on short hops.
