Heading to Paris via Hong Kong tomorrow and want to know if anyone has experienced the Plaza Premium lounges in Hong Kong? Particularly interested if the newer one Plaza Premium West Hall (near gate 40) is better than the main one Plaza Premium East Hall near gate 1?

I used to go to both quite often although a year ago I got Marco Polo Silver so I go to Cathay lounges now.

The Plaza Premium Lounge near gate 40 is smaller and has less lounging room, most of the chairs are cafe style or at desks. The one near gate 1 is much larger and has a lot of lounge chairs.

But as I recall the food options are better at the gate 40 lounge, they were last time I tried anyway.

They are both quite decent lounges, not as good as the best Cathay lounges or the Qantas lounge but better than you'd expect for a pay in lounge. They do get crowded though and there is often a queue to get in at both lounges. The line at the gate 1 lounge is usually longer because it is more central.

It is a fair hike from one to the other so just go with whatever is closer to your departing flight, then you can maximise your time.
