Last news of this was that the airline was conducting studies to measure the viability of the route, along with several other new routes in Australia. My guess is that the market demand didn't measure up to their predictions.

I would love qantas to roster on an A330 seasonally in place of the737.... Or Emirates to continue through to Sydney with their 777.... I yearn for full service, wide body options! Now I'm stuck with the choice of sardine can or bogan bus. The body language from the bogan bus passengers whilst boarding is a real issue for me. I'm always up and about when I'm going somewhere.

Indonesia AirAsia X did have scheduled flights appear in the BAC timetables for April, however these flights never took place. The flights were removed a few days later, here's what they were:

XT990 A333 DPS-BNE 2355 arrival daily
XT991 A333 BNE-DPS 0110 departure daily

I read it in a financial report on AAX regarding there current results and plans for expansion in 2016.
