Hi - I'm a Qantas Platinum member flying a Qantas rewards flight with Cathay Pacific (OneWorld) to London... Can I access the Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney... reading this article (http://www.ausbt.com.au/your-guide-to-sydney-airport-s-international-business-class-lounges) it indicates I can though today when I called Qantas the QFF person said she thought I couldnt? cheers

You should be able to access the lounge if you are a Oneworld Emerald member holding a Oneworld marketed and operated flight, regardless of class of travel.
Provided that your ticket shows a Oneworld (e.g. QF or CX) flight number, you should be all right to enter.

As per the QF website:
Platinum Frequent Flyer
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight. #
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member on the same flight.

thanks Dimi, I thought that was the case... I just checked the QFF website: and clearly says the following under the First lounge access policy...
Platinum Frequent Flyer
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight.
Although I got a bit spooked when you here first hand you cant from the QFF Call centre 'expert' that you cant and need to be flying Qantas or Emirates...
