Does anyone know what' non metered' charges a Taxi driver can add to a fare collected from curb side Melbourne International rank to my home, no toll roads were taken. I'm interested about a so called $5.00 airport fee unmetered only mentioned in addition to fare right outside my house.

Did you get a receipt? It should be shown on there – if not, they're ripping you off.

No I did not, but it was mentioned in such a manor that it had been around since year dot.

He touched you. The fee is $2.70. Use Uber/UberX next time. For X's just put the departure pin at the McDonalds car park then contact them once they've accepted the job to pick you up like any normal person.

and if he does this all the time he will retire in comfort and luxury tax free. Thanks for the Uber advice. BTW should that $2.70 fee be visible on the Taxi meter?

To be honest I can't remember, haven't used a taxi in a couple of years. The fee information is from Melbourne airport website.

Unscrupulous to say the least, and even the Directorate were far from catergorical.

Take an uber. Honestly. I'd been stung before too. There is just no transparency at the POS. At least with uber you have recourse. The TSC is pretty ineffective with stuff like this.
