Is there really such a thing as an 'international warranty' on laptops and smartphones? If I buy one in the US or Asia, is it covered in Australia?

Apple's international warranty is truly international. Even if you bought an original iPhone in the USA when they weren't sold in Australia, Apple Australia would arrange to have it fixed by sending it to a US repair centre and getting it back to Australia at no cost to you.
