Usually I miss out but sometimes offers are very well timed. That moment that you are just planning your next trips for the months to come and you receive an email from Qantas with 50% bonus status credits... And knowing that one of the trips that drops in the bucket is a OneWorld business class RTW trip. Christmas is early this year :-) Booking between 7 and 13 December for travel between 7 December and 6 April 2017 - Sweet.

I was wondering the same but I can't find the offer anywhere on the Qantas website. It may be targeted

I'd like to know too. It *annoys* me that they do this. I'm a very loyal customer trying to get to Platinum One level and could use this promotion. I'm wondering if I'm too loyal - Qantas maybe ignores good customers as they assume you'll keep flying anyway. Coupled with some bizarrely rude treatment from a flight attendant recently in the Business cabin, flying domestically, I might just re-think my loyalty.

Quite often lately I've found I get promotions emails 24hours after other QF FF. Don't know if it's my server or theirs but hold on, it might still come through :)

I am perplexed by these offers. I have never personally received one, my business received one through Aquire earlier this year, however I think that was open to all. The only offer I have been able to take advantage of was the double SC offer back in April, but that to was also available to all.

My partner has received these offers in the past, what I find interesting is that her “P” status has only been achieved from my P1 status. I am at odds to understand how my partner receives the offer when the kids and her travel on my points and rarely on paid flights.

With my current travel commitments, I can retain P1 for at least a couple more years, I would just like to get a couple of these offers to reign in LTG a bit sooner.

WW...firstly - don't underestimate how Qantas use the data they have at their disposal! They'll be looking at a raft of criteria to determine who to send this offer to and maybe, just maybe, they don't think you fit the criteria of who they want to target.

Secondly, I don't agree that Qantas ignores loyal customers. Like most large enterprise they can sometimes drop the ball (like an experience I had with AMEX today) but usually they get loyalty.

Finally, inflight experience with cabin staff involves humans - it will always vary. Some handle bad days well, some don't! I had a shocker of a flight on Emirates from AKL-BNE with 3 hours of stink-eye from the CSM because I objected to them seating me beside two unaccompanied female minors - their system should never have allowed this and when I raised the situation I got nothing but grief from the crew...Their stuff-up meant I endured rude treatment from the crew... It can happen on any airline!

I suspect Qantas is using certain algorithms for selective offers. I'm certainly not making statements which loyal Qantas FF's deserve these offers more. Looking at the above I can only dream of reaching Platinum One, although I have been a loyal Platinum FF for a few years now. With 1,090 status credit and the membership to be refreshed end of Feb next year, perhaps the Qantas algorithm wanted to give me a nudge.

MP... Firstly, I do not under any circumstances underestimate the use to which a large organisation puts the massive amount of personal data it acquires in the course of the transactions we customers have with it (and also whilst we are browsing their website and/or navigating from their website to another). Of course, it has occurred to me that I don't fit the criteria for their promotion seeing that I am already Platinum and they apparently believe I am doing enough flying with them without their giving me any incentive for more. My initial post, above, alludes to as much.

I'm not sure which part of my initial comments you would be referring to as their 'dropping the ball'. Of course organisations don't always get it right. I assume you are referring to the customer service complaint I had? Yes, it does involve humans who are fallible and have off days. I was not referring to attitude however, although the two flight attendants in business had a bit of that, but rather to an inappropriate comment relating to personal appearance. I won't go into details (and no, it wasn't a weight issue) and it wasn't a compliment either. I was shocked but decided not to make an official complaint as I don't wish to be the target of 'special attention' on further flights. As you have pointed out, staff don't take complaints very well and will make you wish you hadn't bothered. However, I remain unhappy about the experience. I'm sure you would agree that we each have the right to have our own opinions and feelings about our experience with these large organisations (we, also, being human).

The above are merely my own experience and opinions.

This is a targeted 50% status credits offer and not for everyone!

Its all in their system. Only they know what their priorities are and the algorithm Also this could be in reaction to finding out that VA have been running a Double Status credits promo for December. It was targeted to certain FF.

Qantas have been running 50% bonus SC promotions all year. Each one has been targetted to particular members, so I doubt it is a reaction to VA.

Hi All,

Came across this link https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/memberSpecials/double-status-credits-global for travel.
  1. Simply register below for this offer (all passengers in the booking must register separately to earn double status credits).
  2. Book an eligible Qantas operated flight between 28 April and 4 May 2016, for travel from 28 April 2016 to 16 April 2017.
Is this for real or did I hit a scam site?

I got the double SC promotion in May which has helped me a heap this year. I got one a few days ago but just for flights to/from the Gold Coast. I feel it is because I have been looking up Gold Coast options for an upcoming work trip (unfortunately Virgin looks like a better option this time for that trip).
