Hoping someone can help me with this. As a Velocity Gold, can I take a guest into the Changi Krisflyer Gold lounge when travelling on SQ economy? Do we also need to be travelling on the same booking number?
You can take a guest into the Changi Krisflyer Gold Lounge, as long as they are flying on SQ on the same flight. I dont think you should have an issue with a different booking number. The lounge is actually not worth it, you're better off eating at the street food market in the airport and checking out the plethora of shops that Changi have to offer.
The Changi Krisflyer Gold Lounge has some of the least interested staff I have seen on Singapore Air or at a lounge. The past couple of times I've been there I just walk in holding my ticket up and they don't even look - I imagine you can get many guests in there over your +1 allocation with a similar technique.
If I'm only on short layover I tend to head into the lounge and grab a bottle of water, have a quick bite to eat if there is something reasonable, then head back out to wander around Changi for a bit before heading back for some more water and a seat until my flight.
It's not the world's best lounge, but it's not too bad for a quick bite, and it has free XO Cognac just "lying around", which is worth it alone. And you can bring your guest.
