Virgin Platinum on Air New Zealand to Tahiti

Getting sent off to Tahiti in a month and was booking AirNZ tickets, I have been over the Velocity Website and have noticed that they have an * where it says international and where it says International Lounge Access, below that it states "*Excludes Pacific Island flights with Air New Zealand" this includes Tahiti. Does this mean I don't get any recognition whatsoever? No priority anything? I am flying via Auckland since that is Trans-Tasman do I get the lounge Access in Sydney and then not on the on going flight? Has anyone done a Pacific Island flight with Virgin Status?

Since no one responded I am guessing no one has done this. For future reference I sent Velocity an email. See response below;

Thank you for contacting us about your lounge access for your upcoming flight with Air New Zealand.

You are correct, as stated on our website, Velocity Platinum membership Lounge access is not available and ineligible to earn Points and Status Credits when travelling on Pacific Island services operated by Air New Zealand.  You may call Air New Zealand directly and ask if they can give you access to the lounge if you choose to upgrade to business class.

Your flight from Sydney to Auckland will earn Points and Status Credits if booked on an eligible fare class. Unfortunately, flying from Auckland to Tahiti is ineligible to earn.
