Definitely has something to do with it. Flew scoot on the new 787 Dreamliner last year ool - sin. Freezing cold in quiet zone towards front of plane. Walked down the back of economy to go to toilet and found it to be very hot. I also get hot very easily and prefer a criogenic freezer like plane temperature.
Both my wife and I fly EK 380s in J from Melbourne - Singapore and beyond and we both find them too warm. We have complained on numerous occasions to cabin staff with no success.
We have started booking seats closer to the back where it is much cooler. Avoid seats in row 8-12 this warmer than the others for some reason.
