We did in late 2014 when the route was relatively new. Found the 3 across still very cramped despite being in the bulkhead row. Service was pretty average. Business class didn't seem that flash given how expensive the price jump was. I'd be very reluctant to fly it again.

We've reviewed United's Boeing 787 business class from Melbourne to Los Angeles at https://www.ausbt.com.au/united-boeing-787-9-dreamliner-businessfirst-business-class-melbourne-los-angeles-mel-lax-review – haven't reviewed Economy Plus on this, but flew it many years ago (before we launched AusBT) and it's just about the legroom, pretty much everything else is the same. If you really want the extra legroom then go for it, but don't expect a proper 'premium economy' experience.
