I shake my head when I hear an announcement such as, "If Mr John Smith is in the lounge would he please report to the desk."

May I point out that if Mr Smith isn't in the lounge he won't hear the announcement...

Ewan,

The last thing you want is all general annoucements being made in the lounges, so if they're looking for passenger who is a Frequent flyer, the next best thing is to page the passenger by name in the Lounge.

Normally if they're paging in the lounge, the staff in the main concourse have already tried paging several times, the same goes to fail to board calls.

The only way to eleviate this would be to have a swipe in, swipe out access into the lounge, so staff know exactly who is in the lounge...

highflyer, you are absolutely right re swipe in-swipe out, and given the new technology that exists re RFID (q Bag Tags as an example) - airlines should imprint these on frequent flyer cards and or boarding passes to enable this problem to be alleviated in the future.
