Any idea when the agreement between Singapore Airline and Virgin Australia frequent flyer programs will be finalised?

Soon I hope! The deadline for submissions regarding the draft determination by the ACCC (the ACCC has proposed to approve the agreement ) has passed, so it really could be any day now.

I flew with SQ MEL-SIN-SYD a week ago, and the lounge reciprocity is well in place in all three airports. There's (understandably) less familiarity with things in SIN, so you may also get away with chancing things like premium check-in, priority baggage and priority boarding that aren't official yet.

Alas, only the "no showers and no toilets" KrisFlyer Gold lounge. Apart from that horrendously glaring omission (which has led to much comment from various quarters about the level of Singapore Airlines' commitment to the Star Alliance and its partners...) the lounges weren't that bad.
