It may be completely unrelated but it had an aborted take off out of Melbourne too!! It looked like it was heading back to the gate but then it turned around and took off on it's second attempt. I can only imagine what was going through the passengers minds after the initial diversion to Melbourne and then an aborted take off.

It was medical, I read the story on a newspaper website yesterday (think it was The Age). Apparently a passenger needed urgent medical attention so the captain made a call to divert to Melbourne.

S, I asked because I fly that sector often and I was interested to know if it was equipment related. Surely it is a reasonable question? There was no article in the press at the time of writing.... I checked first.

Thanks! It was a reasonably lengthy delay in Melbourne; I guess they had to re-crew which would account for that duration.
