Seat allocation on VA? I think someone may have asked something along these lines around the time of the Sabre swap over. Was just wondering if anyone had experienced there seat allocations "resetting" or becoming non-existent after the Sabre adoption. I noticed on my e-ticket/itinerary for mine and my brother's flight from AUH to Sydney in Premium Economy it had "Check-in required" and no seat allocation. I range the customer service centre and the person I spoke to said there were no seat available in the window sections with 2 seats, there were two seats together in the 4 seat row. I guess my question is I was a Gold Velocity when I booked these but it seems as though no seats were allocated and the only reason I got two seats together was because I range up and asked about it. Does this mean if I hadn't called that my brother and I would have just got whichever 2 remaining seats there were when we rocked up in AUH and checked in. Is there a benefit for higher level velocity members that they get "preferential seating". It was explained to me that due to my booking being after Sabre I cant look at it online, but I booked back in November, but it seams that someone who booked 2 weeks ago, gets to pick their seats at time of booking and mine just got left in limbo. Anyone had similar experiences? thanks

My parents and aunt are flying VA SYD-AUH tomorrow in PE and experienced exactly the same situation. Seats were allocated when booked over 6 months ago, but requests were lost in the transition to Sabre. This was only noticed when Dad tried to check the booking online (and couldn't) so had to speak to the CS staff. Subsequently he found out they were placed in 3 separate parts of the cabin. ALOT of calls, emails and whatnot later they only this week received a call from VA advising 3 seats in close proximity to each other had been allocated.
