Virgin Australia expands Velocity with points for shows, sports

IN BRIEF | Virgin Australia is serving up another way to earn Velocity frequent flyer points – buying tickets to theatre shows, concerts, sports and other major events in Australia and New Zealand.

The partnership with Showbiz International will see Velocity members earn 3 points per dollar when they book through the 'box office’ at www.showbiz.com.au/virginaustralia (if you're in NZ, head to www.showbiznz.co.nz/virginaustralia).

That's a rate which Phil Gunter, Velocity Frequent Flyer General Manager, trumpets as "the most competitive earn rate of any Australian frequent flyer program in the event and entertainment ticketing space."

“Since Velocity Frequent Flyer first launched, we have been committed to offering our members a range of entertainment experiences for which they can be rewarded." Gunter said.

"The 'box office' will allow us to take these offerings to a whole new level, providing a one- stop shop for a range of events, along with exclusive benefits including access to ticket pre-sales, special offers and all-inclusive event packages."
