Booked my QR trip in Biz in February from MEL for travel in July which was originally scheduled on an A350-1000 with the new Q-Suites on board.
Just noticed that the aircraft has changed to a 777-300ER and the seat map is showing the old 2-2-2 configuration on 22 July returning on 15 Aug.
I know that QR are in dispute with Airbus regarding their A350's with many aircraft grounded. However I would have thought that they would have tried their best in advance to ensure that their best product is on this long route not withstanding that last minute swaps can occur.
Does anyone have any further information on this? Experience flying this route recently? Aircraft registrations that I should look out for?
I flew QR904 Doha to Melbourne on 19th April this year and I was on the latest version of the 777. I was in economy class but the Q-Suite looked good in the business.
I am hoping that Qatar can bring the A380 back to this route soon as I am flying late August to Paris.
But you should definitely be looking out for registrations that are (A7-BE) as these will be the newest 777's, whereas (A7-BA) is the oldest.
Both your flights are showing as Q-suite on expert flyer so should be all sweet. Further that, QR intention is to have every Aus flight with Q-suite so shouldn't really have anything to worry about regardless.

Just visited Australia a few weeks ago on QR to MEL in J. Both flights were 77W; Both had Q-Suite product.

Anyone know if Qatar will return the A380 on the Melbourne-Doha route anytime soon?
