Am currently HHonors Gold and have made 3 bookings over the last week for stays at 3 different hotels. 2 were booked as part of the current Getaway sale and the other as an Advanced Purchase. Strange thing is that my card has not been charged for any of them yet. Normally this happens straight away. Any thoughts? All are non refundable or changeable as per conditions.

I am a diamond  member and have noticed it has been taking up to 20 working days for points to come through also they have just upgraded their website and i think they are having teething problems ,as 2 days ago you couldnot check in on line.!! do'nt worry H'Honors will charge you at or befor checkout . Hope this helps

Thanks Rodney. Don't want the dollar to drop further,hence the upfront payment choice.

Did they get around to charging your card?

I've found that Hilton typically bills $USD transactions instantly, using the main Hilton merchant account (regardless of the property). Transactions in other currencies appear to be sent directly to the hotel for processing, which can add a few days to the lead time.

After making a reservation online (and receiving the email confirmation), you could always give the hotel a call and ask them to process the card immediately, explaining that you'd like to pay now due to the exchange rate. I've done the same in the past when the hotel have been rather slow to take payment, and it hasn't been an issue.

I've done Advanced Purchase many times, and on a recent trip to Hilton Paris CDG, I was not charged until check out, despite the rate. Other times they charge the card a couple of weeks to few weeks after booking. If you are keen, call the hotel directly.
