Could I please have opinions on what would be the best status runs domestically and or internationally including class of travel and bang for buck/points or mixture.

I just have a question for PLATY. You mention above about renewing QFF Gold requires 800 SC, isn't it 700 to attain and 600 to retain...? If it really is 800 when did this come into effect....? Thanks.

Yes, of course you're right Alkaff. Gold 800 to get, 600 to retain. Platinum 1400 to get and 1200 to retain. Platinums soft land to Gold if you don't make the 1200 (except sometimes discretion is exercised by QF). P1 3600 of which 2700 on QF.

I have just booked trip that will double as a great status run on VA.

Perth to Bali in Business is under HALF of the cost of business to Sydney, but because it's about the same distance, you get the same Status Credits. That's 80 SC each way, and by good luck I happened to be able to book and fly at the right times for the recent VA double credits deal, so I'll get 80 x 2 x 2 = 320 Credits for a business saver fare under $1000 return.

Even without the double deal, and regardless of where you are flying from, flights to Bali are about as cheap as you'll get for a status run, and the accommodation when you get there won't break the bank either.
