Just got in before the devaluation. 318,000 QFF points + 1 x 6000 point "assist" fee and 4 x 5000 "change" fees (another 2 "change" fees were waived), so 344,000 points for 5 stopovers, 13 transits and 32,000 miles = $AUD33,290 worth of business class flights on Malaysian, Finnair, Cathay, AA & BA. Exceptional value at 9.7c per point. But it was VERY HARD WORK AND VERY FRUSTRATING. More than 5 hours on phone to Qantas over many weeks and multiple frustrating errors by Qantas staff. But worth it in the end. Keynote, in line with all online advice: Be flexible with dates & itinerary. But also be very vigilant!
PS: Word of warning: While you can book Fiji Airways on a Classic Reward ticket, you cannot include that flight in a RTW Classic Reward ticket. Annoying & disappointing. - Graham H
