I recently flew QF domestic (2+ hour flight) on a business class rewards seat - I made the booking some 3-4 months in advance. My seat was pre-allocated and I checked in on-line approximately 18 hours in advance - seat 1C.
When I arrived at the business lounge 1 hour before my flight I was advised that I had been downgraded to economy - seat 8C. Apparently there was an earlier flight cancellation and an important staff member was given my seat. I was also advised I would get points credited back to me immediately but it never happened - I did call them a week later and they were then credited back.
Then a few days late on my return flight, also rewards business class and also checked in on-line - seat 1C again. This time on arrival at the lounge I was simply re-allocated from 1C (aisle - my preferred) to 3A (window - which I hate) - but htankfully still in business class. Once boarded there was no indication why, except that I did have a passenger nursing a baby next to me in my new seat - not that it worried me at all?
This is very shabby treatment for a loyal and paying (my points are valuable) passenger - I actually did not think it could happen, but only on Qantas I suppose, they get worse and worse.
