Is my Velocity Gold membership of any value to me (aside from points & SC) for flights via Delta to US? Presumably need to fly on Virgin operated/marketed flight to get priority check-in etc? Can get to Orlando via SFO quicker via United but thought worth checking first. Can't find Virgin Aus fares anywhere except their website which doesn't allow the stopovers I need.

Hi Sonja - Absolutely make use of your Gold Velocity status! Based on my own personal experience as both Gold and Plat Velocity over the past few years travelling on DL in the USA, there's no need to travel on a VA ticketed flight - you can book direct with DL to make use of the following reciprocal benefits:

  • Priority Check-in
  • Priority Boarding
  • Priority Baggage
  • Priority Screening
  • Lounge Access
  • Receive a 25% discount on upgrades to Economy Comfort and enjoy extra legroom and seating in the first few rows of the Economy cabin, plus complimentary spirits and up to 50% more recline on selected International and Transcontinental services

Print out all the benefits from the VA website and take them with you, might need them.
