Does anyone know when Virgin will fly more routes and more frequency at Newcastle, we are crying out for competition with jetstar, and new routes, we are tired and sick of going to Sydney for a flight. Cheers, oh and the Newcastle- Gold Coast Return, anyone know why that was dropped by virgin? Flew the route on Jetstar 3 weeks ago, so full it was over booked, and since they want to be more competitive, Newcastle is a great way! Any answers, opinions, rumors any gossip with Newcastle please post! Cheers!

Why chase a ticket that makes you $10 when you can use the plane to sell tickets that make you $20?

They are better off using their aircraft for routes where they can optimise their profits, and leave lower yeilding destiantions for the true LCCs, especially with the rebranding... Maybe Tiger will enter the market??

Would love to see Virgin run NTL-MEL after ~1700h. The JQ flights are always full - and with mostly business and mining-related passengers.

Yes John, Virgin will be offer a Newcastle to melb run at 6:30pm soon. However weather conditions do not allow at present. Once they have the weather conditions sorted and the flight path sorted, they will look at purchasing an individual plane for this trip, plus an MEL  - Perth intergrated. Will keep you posted John!

Do you seriously have any idea at all about what you are writing?

No virgin will not be making any more flights to Newcaste. Authorities have decided the market isn't large enough and not providing enough yeild to grasp the market and take over.
