I am flying on a Bangkok Airways flight from Samui to Singapore and then transferring to a Qantas flight from Singapore to Brisbane. Do I have to clear customs/security to check-in and check-in my luggage or can this be done in the transit hall?

Did almost same route last year, with same airlines but ended in Perth. All done in transit hall. Both are international flights

Thanks. Do I need to collect luggage first or would Qantas organise is when I check in?

When we checked in at Bangkok, we advised we were going through to Perth, albeit on a different airline. We showed our Qantas flight number, and they tagged our bags accordingly. At Singapore, checking at the transit counter, we were able to confirm our luggage was forwarded on to the correct flight. It was all seemless. Also did similar with Qantas then Silk Air. This too worked out correctly, except we never made the flight as QF was late. Some how our luggage did and arrived at the destination a day before us.
