Hmmm, seems like I hit the wrong key. My question is: my wife & I are transiting CAN on China Southern fligts MEL-CAN-KIX & return. We intend overnighting at the nearby Pullman Hotel & it will be a stay of less than 24 hours on each occasion. Does anyone know if there is a special Immigration Line/Desk we need to use at CAN, please?

Hi! Yes, the longest period of stay in China (including Guanzhou) is 72-hours. At Immigration there is a line which says 'Special Visa' or something very similar. You have to shown them your ticket out of the country and possibly your residence of stay (Pullman Hotel).

None that I'm aware of.if you choose to pass through immigration  for a good nights sleep the best you can do is to get a priority pass if flying buisiness or better or arrange an airport concierge to greet you airside and get fast tracked if time is critical .
