Will be flying out of Melbourne on Emirates First Class in just over a month. Is it just easier to use the Emirates Lounge or is the Qantas First Lounge a viable option before the flight? I'm curious as to whether I'd be placing myself too far from the gate area by using the Qantas Lounge (or are the lounges close to each other)?

They're literally right next to each other, so take your pick!

You even go up the same escalator... :)

Thanks, Chris :) Which of the two lounges would you say is better?

In Melbourne I've only been in the Qantas First Lounge (not the Emirates lounge), so I'll leave that one for others to answer. :)

The lounges are next door to each other so distance is not an issue, they also share the same lift/escalator. You could try both lounges if you have the time.

In the Qantas First lounge, some EK flights are listed on the flight board and some are not I have found... so just be mindful of the time.

Qantas First is usually quieter/both lounges are comfortable.

Thanks for the handy note.........

On the flip side, can a Platinum One FF, flying Qantas First, gain access to The Emirates Lounge?

With a Platinum One card, you could access the Emirates lounge even when you're flying in economy with Qantas. :)
