Is there anyway of knowing whether a Virgin flight on B737 is on the new Business cabin or the older Premium cabin? I'm booked on a flight this Saturday and am hoping it will be the new Business Class product!

Hi there, yes there is a way to tell if your DJ flight has the new cabin+livery, but sometimes it might not be that accurate. If you give me the flight number I can do this for you, if you want to you can do this yourself through thevasource(DOT)com, and you will see a box on the side showing regos of aircraft with new livery. Head to the VA Tracker tab, and click flight tracker. Enter your flight number and hit enter, a table of previous flights that month show. From this you can work out if there are any patterns. Now compare the rego you got from that do the box on the main page showing new livery aircraft. Hope it helped.

It's pretty simple. If you're booked on an Embraer E90, it'll be a Premium Economy layout; if you're booked on a Boeing 737, it'll be the new Business layout. The easiest way to find out is that when you do your online seat selection, if the economy seats are 3-3, with 2-2 at the front, it's a 737; otherwise, it's an E90.
Hope this helps.

Well actually, it is even easier to find your aircraft. Go on to the website, enter your date and route into the flight search and enter. Look for your flight number on the results page, there it will tell you what aircraft your flight uses.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm on a B 737 but I understand not all have been reconfigured?
CL9 it is dj1457. I did what you said and saw the rego for each flight but how do I know if it's new or old layout/livery?

Just answered my own question! Thanks CL9. Looks like its a mixed bag so I'll have to wait and see what I get!

Hi there, no problem for the help, but with about 40% accuracy, you will be on an aircraft that does not unfortunately have the new layout, but you will have to wait and see to be sure......

If the website says 737-800 it'll be a new fit out, I believe the only aircrafts that have not been refitted are the 700's (if they have any left)

DJ still have ~12 737-700s in the fleet, however they're on the way out.

Not all DJ 738's have been upgraded.

DJ1457 is always an -800.
There is only one 800 left in the domestic fleet that doesn't have full business class, VH-VOD. It's unusual to send VOD to Darwin but stuff ups do happen. Anyway, with 49 800s in the domestic fleet, you have a 48 in 49 chance of the full bus class cabin. Not necessarily a new livery or fancy interior (BSI) though.
