Melbourne to Tokyo Direct. Jetstar seems to be the only airline that flies direct to Japan from Melbourne. Have used Skyscanner but all the other options are 15-25hour flights.
Checked out JAL and the options are just as bad. Happy to fly Jetstar but wondering if any other Airlines fly direct?
Hi Chris_Per. Thanks for that. I noticed the QF option via JAL's website. It comes to around $1200 return for economy. For about the same price I could fly up Jetstar Bizz when they have a sale. But I will check often to see if Qantas has this route on sale.I wonder if the recent nuclear crisis has restricted the amount of direct options to Japan?

Yeah Jetstar only. You second best bet, as far as timing goes, is QF to Sydney then JAL to Tokyo.

It's been years since Qantas flew direct to Tokyo from Melbourne
Jetstar fly to Osaka from Melbourne via Cairns too
I would rather transfer in Asia to go to Japan than Sydney if going from Melbourne
