PE exit row seating on QF A380

I'm a CX SG and travelling to LHR in PE.

As a SG I've managed to reserve the second row of PE but I'm hoping to score an exit row.

Does anyone know if these are likely to become available before checkin?

naggi,

If its an A330, there are no Exit rows for PE, only  bulkhead seats. These bulkhead seats is for row 30, with 30A, 30C, 30H & 30K being the most desirable seats. Unfortunately 30C and 30H are also bassinet seats, which won't be released.

So your best bet is to try 30A or 30H. I've been able to get those by calling CX.

On the 77W, Exit row in PE is available at row 31, with only 31A and 31C offering the extra leg space. Row 30 (30D, 30E, 30F, 30G) and 32 (32H, 32K) are bulkhead seats that offers extra leg room. I prefer 32H or 32K as you don't get a window with 31A and 31C.

As OW Sapphire, you should be able to get your choice of seats. But I would call them up and request.

By the way, what does the "S" stand for in the "SG"?

TRB, see posts #4 & #5 here for an explanation.

Hey TRB, if you really want to know the story of how 'SG' came to mean Gold, I can give you the summary. I should note for the benefit of the general membership that the story might be a bit rude.

Briefly, in a BNE QP meet over a decade ago, the Platinums in the group decided the Golds were scum, so they were nicknamed Scum Gold, which became 'SG.'

The Golds then huddled together and a few beers later agreed that the Platinums were being a bunch of w**kers, so they named them W**ker Platinum, or 'WP'.

They then added in Plebian Silver ('PS') and Nothing Bronze ('NB'). The terms have stuck.

Thanks Watson. I know of the term WP. It is somewhat self explanatory ;)

Thanks for the added info. I find it somewhat amusing for a self-declared egalitarian country, such class-based concepts still remain. The logic being it's foolish to think the concept of class can be banished from the psyche of a society.
