Air China for sure, their soft product seems to be more 'refined' over China Eastern. Air China also operate newer A330's to Australia so the cabin comfort is a one up over China Eastern, Living in Beijing I have travelled both domestically and internationally on both carriers and found Air China to be pretty good for what You pay. Catering onboard is apaulling on China Eastern compared to Average- Good depending on where the catering is from on Air China, catering ex Australia tends to be quite a good and a consistent standard. I just tried Chin Eastern. They were pretty good. 98% Asian clientele in both directions. If you like wine you may be disappointed as its in short supply but other than that it's no worse than Qantas. Air China next time in 3 weeks.
